Rick was our lawyer who has supported this organization from the beginning. Donations were made in memory and honor of Rick.
Well we have made it through April showers with very little cancelling of classes!
This first riding session, we have been taking horses to the Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center. Our focus is teaching what a healthy relationship of respect and trust is. Trust and respect is key to the relationship of a horse and rider as it is for human to human relationships. The gentle, kind demeanor of the horse, draws these children to want and have a good relationship. The horse offers immediate results which is vital to one who hesitates to trust. We are excited about the outcome so far. We will share the results at the end of this trial period.
Check out this great story Channel 44 did of us:
WOW!!! Hard to believe we just finished our 15th year!!!! In this time we have served over 275 riders from the 6 surrounding tristate counties, had over 600 volunteers, have been blessed over the years with 19 different horses and a very sweet little pony named Noodles who has been with us from day one. We started with 2 instructors and now have 5 nationally certified therapeutic horseback riding instructors.
We have had the privilege of witnessing so many miracles! Being apart of this organization is such a blessing!! Even our volunteers walk away a different person. Come be apart of something that truly is changing lives in so many different ways!! Check out our links on how to be a volunteer, rider and even financially sponsor a horse, rider , or instructor. We even welcome you to come serve on a committee.
To the New Year! We have big hopes and plans for 2017!!!!! We have out grown where we are currently leasing and are in search of 30 acres to call our own. This will provide our riders more of a consistent service and not have to be at the mercy of the weather. Having an indoor arena will also give us the opportunity to implement new programs, such as, Silver Saddles for senior citizens to come out and increase their balance, veterans suffering from PTSD, girls/boys scouts to earn their horse badge, and work with school corporations. The ideas honestly are endless. So if you know of some land or a facility please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
God Bless!! And THANK YOU for taking the time to check us out!!!!!!!!!
Today marks a new look for our website and now we have a new blog to be able to use to keep everyone updated on what is happening with Stir-N-Up Hope.
